AXEL LANGE GENERALI LEDERBACH GOLF COURSEdesigned by Kurt Rossknecht
Enjoy views of the Bavarian Forest on one side and a panorama of the town of Bad Griesbach on the other. A few degrees further, you will catch an impressive glimpse of the Alps if the right weather conditions are in place. All these views, however, need to be earned. Once you have completed a round of the Axel Lange Generali Lederbach Golf Course, you will have a good idea of why the course is referred to as "Alpine" and why the 9th hole goes by the name of "Heart Attack Hill".
Lederbach provides an interesting and strenuous round of golf around a course which is almost mountainous in character and features no flat holes at all. Where ever you go on the course, you will be confronted with hanging lies, long uphill stretches and huge differences in height between the individual holes. The last 160 yards of the 9th, for example, require you to climb up a gradient of an unbelievable 48%. This hole is nicknamed "Heart Attack Hill", and it will come as no surprise to learn that it is considered to be one of the ten hardest holes in the whole of Germany (according to a German golf magazine). Make sure that you reserve your final energies for the 17th, a long uphill Par 5.
